(BillS) ...We stayed at the Berlin Mark Hotel, a 3-star on Meinekestrasse, a long block from the famous Berlin upscale shopping street Kurfurstendamm and not too far from the zoogarten. Restaurants abound and easy access to S and U Bahn. Well located. Hint - they show a rate of Euro 120 but I checked many sites, including Kayak.com and SideStep.com to find a rate of $106 double. Check various sites to be sure of best rate. Breakfast is included and room is AC. There is a Mark Hotel Meineke across the street that shows the same rate, but I did not go into it or check it out. Probably for overflow and bus tours.

Hint: Dunkin Donuts on the corner of Meinekestrasse and Ku'damm has an "easy connect" internet cafe with over 100, yes over 100, computers available, many in cubicles, for Euro 1 per hour - the best rate in Europe. The hotel charges equivalent of $20 per day (probably more now that the Euro is even stronger) but available only in lobby and public areas on ground floor and business (conference) rooms on level 1.
