(Ben) ...This farm is located high in the hills with only a house number for an address (no street name). I was lucky enough to find this secluded gem while surfing one of the Salzburg accommodations websites. The price was a bargain for each of our beautifully furnished double rooms. The shower and toilet were in the hallway but that's never a problem for us. Outstanding farm breakfast and cable TV with CNN coverage. Lots of room and some great views of the mountains and valley pastures....

(Tina) ...Having stayed at this farm on three occasions - we have gotten to be great friends with the host, Hildegard. She is a wonderful lady! The entire family is wonderful to us and we just love it there! I tell Hildegard and her family all of the time how blessed they are to live in such a beautiful area! I really think that their home could not be in a more beautiful place! The farm is no longer a dairy farm but they do raise beef cattle and also still have their Haflinger horses. They also have chickens, pigs, and cats. There are lots of great trails to hike right from the farm. The farm is also only about a 20 to 30 minute drive to the cute & historical village of Hallstatt. The Bärhof is a wonderful place to to stay if you are looking for peace and quiet and awesome scenery! These are the photos from our latest visit...
