Driving or training north along the Mosel - the next village after Cochem is Klotten (5 minutes). This is a nice small village with lots of inexpensive Zimmer Frei and Pensions.

After bidding adieu to the Odenwald I enjoyed a liesurely drive to the Mosel via the A61 from Worms. I arrived in Klotten around noon, to a nice sunny day. I made a repeat visit to this little town (BB and I stayed here in '06) because of its strategic location, plus it is loaded with very inexpensive zimmers.

I had a reservation at the Haus Cornerly, located two blocks off the main drag on a nice quiet sidestreet. Frau Cornerly greeted me and I was given a nice comfy single room (EZ), with shower, toilet and TV, for only €21 per day.

If you are ever in Klotten and looking for a nice clean pension, easy on the budget, and great location, you can't go wrong with the Haus Cornerly.

As an extra added attraction, it turned out that the Bahnhof is only a two minute walk, which I took advantage of the next day for my day trip to Trier.
