(PEF1234) ...I stayed at the Müller twice last year and can tell you that is a very nice hotel. It is clean, reasonably priced and it is a few hundred feet from Hohenschwangau. Neuschwanstein is directly above the Müller Hotel. You can't get a hotel in better proximity to the two castles.

The staff at the Müller is very friendly. On one stay they arranged for our tickets for the "Ludwig II the Musical" in Füssen, which you may want to consider. If you order tickets on this end on the web you can get them through the Keith Prowse agency at (800) 669-8687. An antique minibus picked us up at the front door of the Müller, took us to the theater and returned us to the Hotel after the play. The chef at the Hotel even offered to stay way beyond his normal quitting time, in order to make a light dinner for us. We accepted his offer and the 'spread' was unbelievable.

If you're planning to visit both of the castles the ticket office is next door to the Müller Hotel. Tell the desk clerk immediately upon your arrival and he/she will get you the tickets without your needing to stand in a long line. Be apprised that during high season your entrance time may be several hours from the time you actually purchase your tickets. The wait for Hohenschwangau is not usually as long as for Neuschwanstein. Several years ago we went to get tickets about 1 PM and were told that the earliest entrance time would be 10 AM the following morning! They said that there were several large tour groups that had pre-booked times for that afternoon.
