(Fadoinka) ...What a find! I almost didn't walk into the Hotel Schottenhof because the front of the building didn't impress me. Thank goodness I decided to check it out. It was our favorite hotel of the trip in Germany.

The first great thing is the hotel's location to the Hauptbahnhof. Just walk out the train station's front door ...bear right ...and cross the street. Walk a few steps down Schottstrasse and ...bam ...you're there!

The receptionist spoke excellent English and was delightful. We had a room on the 3rd floor and ...the saints be praised ...they had an elevator! Our room looked out onto Schottstrasse and had huge windows ...4 in the main room and 2 in the bathroom. Naturally, the street was busy and noisy, but the room was completely soundproofed when all the windows were closed.

All windows were "double" windows ...one interior and one exterior ...which opened inward.

The beds were the most comfortable we slept in! Nice, firm mattresses. Nice desk, mini-bar, closet, etc. It was just great all the way around!

The bathroom was large and had a nice shower.

The walk to the Dom was an easy 10 minutes and the convenience of being right next to the train station was terrific. We departed before breakfast was served the next morning (7 a.m. - 10 a.m.), so can't comment on it. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Especially at 64 Euro per night. Try it ...you'll like it!
