Joan (pronounced Jo anne), a former citizen of the cold and very German state of Wisconsin, now resides with her husband Jim in sunny Florida. Prior to her retirement in 1992, Joan taught the German language to Wisconsin high schoolers for twenty-three years. Over the years she has visited Germany 17 times, the last time in February 2000. She loves to travel in Europe but she usually does so without her husband, an avid fisherman who would rather fish than travel. Joan's favorite place in Europe is Wien but she says she doesn't have a favorite spot in Germany - she loves it all. Her hobbies are crafts, reading, riding her bike, cooking and travel, of course.
