(Joan) ...Judy and I drove into the Ötz valley and were entranced by the beauty that surrounded us. We stopped along the way at a number of little villages and kept going on toward Sölden. We found the pension almost immediately as it was beautifully perched on the side of a mountain with a great view. Since it was off-season, they gave us our choice of two apartments and were thrilled with the one we chose. In the main bedroom, it had two twin beds which each day had the wonderful down comforters folded into fun designs such as a bow, a series of triangles, etc. There was a full bath off that room. Walking through the main bedroom, you entered into another room with a single bed and full kitchen, complete with table and booth-type benches. This room had a half bath, which was just great. We had a lovely balcony which overlooked a meadow. The next morning we spent some time walking through the meadow and up the side of the mountain and stopping to enjoy the wild flowers and watch the sheep and goats which were grazing just on the other side of a fence which separated "our" meadow from the neighbors'. The Olympia is just as you enter Sölden. It's a wonderful location and a great starting place to visit some other beautiful little towns further up in the Alps.
