(Larry) ... After a great stay in Ettal it is time to push on. Next stop is one of my favorite areas of all in Bavaria. For years I have been coming to Füssen, not just for the castles, but for the ambiance. I love the mountains and lakes that surround the area.

I have really lucked out this time as I have managed to land a reservation at the "Ponyhof Fischer". This is a large farm in Brunnen am Forggensee. Their speciality is... what else... but horses. Free rides go to all the guests, and as might be expected the place is a big hit with the kiddies.

Score another winner for accommodations. I am given a large DZ, shower/toilet and balcony with spectacular view of the castles for only €22.

I could learn to love this.
