Joan is a Southern lady who has spent most of her adult life living in the west. While living in Los Angeles, she was the Staff Assistant to the Board of Directors for an international environmental engineering company which was 40% owned by Hochtief, a huge German construction/engineering company. Her job required that she attend all Board meetings, which would include meetings held in Germany. Even before this job, she had long since decided Germany was her favorite European travel spot. She would tack on vacation time to the business trips to Germany, just increasing her love for the company and the people. In the last few years, she has ventured out to other travel locations such as Norway, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, France, etc. Somehow, she always returns to Germany, though. She recently moved back to her beloved South and is working for a clinical research company as an Administrative Assistant. Her hobby is photography and is also an avid reader.
