(Fadoinka) ..If you are planning a stay in Berchtesgaden, may I suggest Hotel Wittelsbach, located right on the "main drag" of Maximilianstrasse. This hotel is owned and run by Frau Petra Wimmer, a lovely young woman who is so friendly and helpful! We had a wonderful, large, front room with balcony and ate one of the best breakfasts in all of Germany there!!! From the Wittelsbach, the main portion of the Altstadt in Berchtesgaden is just 2 short blocks away...a great location.
